For each pet blow machine, there're heating ovens to heat PET preforms before blowing. Differences in heating temperature are magnified by increased preform wall thickness. Preforms with thicker walls present a greater process risk if the preforms used are at different temperatures.
Depending on the preform wall thickness, most of the Bottle Making Machine heating ovens are designed based on the preform temperature of 20-25°C.
In the process of rapid stretch blow molding and cooling, induced stress is generated in the bottle wall. For carbonated beverage bottles, it can resist internal pressure, which is good, but for hot-fill bottles, it is necessary to ensure that it is fully released above the glass transition temperature.
In general, the error of the preform temperature used should be controlled within an average of ±5°C.
